This retreat offers you the opportunity to experience this unique real-life action community and discover concrete examples of a value creation chain that transforms people and ultimately society as it contributes to building an Economy of Love.

You will deep dive into the heart of SEKEM’s community life, join our daily morning meeting circles of employees and community members, have the opportunity to join Friday prayer and participate in our core activities that range from our biodynamic agriculture and food production to experiencing our holistic medical center and our approach to education that integrates personal and professional development.

A highlight of the retreat is the participation of our bi-annual SEKEM festival that is made from the community for the community. You will learn about our sources of inspiration and have time to experience nature, local culture and deep dialogues with diverse peers under the Motto: questions are more important than answers.

Our friends of the Future Economy Forum and NOW Partners will support this process with their unique experience-oriented inquiry process that invites deeper relationships and insights into how what you experience here may be relevant for own life, organization and overall approach to having positive impact.

In 1977, in the untouched part of the Egyptian desert Ibrahim Abouleish started SEKEM, which became Egypt’s first business based on biodynamic farming methods. In just a few years SEKEM developed into a striving agricultural company and community and received international recognition.
