Weather: The sun is statistically shining 362 days per year. Temperatures in November will be around 25 degree in the daytime and 15 degree in the night. A/Cs are available for heating and cooling but it is recommended to bring a sweater and light jacket for the evenings!

Egypt is also a predominantly Islamic country. In general, it’s advisable to keep your chest / cleavage, knees, and shoulders covered. Women should take a scarf for covering their hair when visiting a mosque.

Will there be food?

In the pleasant dining room, guests meet during meal times, where they share the experience of the day. This often leads to exciting conversations.

The food is prepared mostly from organic and biodynamic products from the SEKEM Farm. Fresh bread, vegetables, dairy products, cereals, honey and the well known SEKEM herbal teas are served as well as a variety of delicious Egyptian food that will also make vegetarians happy.

Open buffets and grilled food will be part of the evening dinners. Food at restaurants outside of the SEKEM farm are according to high international standards.

It costs 25 USD (only USD and EUR accepted). Sekem can provide a visa invitation letter if necessary. Please check the specific requirements for your country in advance to make necessary preparations.

Religion: 90% of Egyptians are Muslims who don't drink alcohol or eat pork. They are happy and very friendly, inviting people! Praying at prayer times is usual and you can see Muslims rolling out their prayer-rugs at any place when its time. Prayer times depend on the course of the sun.
