Cairo Solutions Summit FAQs
We pre-selected three hotels where participants of the summit can stay. One hotel is close to the airport, one hotel is close to the beautiful river Nile, suitable if you are bringing your partner / family. A third hotel is closer to the event location. More information about the hotels suggested by us can be found HERE. Of course you can self selected a hotel that suits you and your wishes best.
When staying in one of the three hotels suggested by us there will be a transfer at set times to bring you to the summit and back to your hotel. If you are staying at a self-selected accommodation we ask you to arrange the transport yourself.
Visa: You need to get a 30 day tourist visa to enter Egypt. You can buy it in the airport at one of the bank counters before passport control and baggage claim. It costs 25 USD
Religion: 90% of Egyptians are Muslims who don't drink alcohol or eat pork. Praying at praying times is usual and you can see Muslims rolling out their prayer-rugs at any place when its time. Praying times are determined by the sun.
When the detailed agenda is available you can find it HERE on our website. Also when registered you will receive the full agenda via mail in time before the retreat.
We recommend to stay for the full experience as we are building an ongoing impact-driven and inspiring network of leaders and organisations via a thought-provoking summit program. That said you can attend the summit for one day. Please be aware there is no registration fee for a 1-day summit.
Weather: The sun is statistically shining 362 days per year. Temperatures in November will be around 25 degree in the daytime and 15 degree in the night. Egyptians love their AC so rooms can be rather chilly for European taste. Bring a sweater! Egypt is also a predominantly Islamic country. In general, it’s advisable to keep your chest / cleavage, knees, and shoulders covered.
There will be buffet-style lunches and dinners offering healthy and beautiful food. We will enjoy light organic lunches from farm produce.
Our dinners will be unforgettable as we will be dining under the stars at the Pyramids and in Cairo’s ancient Citadel where you can stroll through the old town.
Please share your dietary restrictions when registering and while we can not make guarantees for all dietary preferences, we will do our best to accommodate.
The summit is about in-person meeting, sharing wise-practices, building impact coalitions and pace-setting solutions together. Meeting in person will be our recipe and allow you and all other participants the best experience. So, no option to attend virtually.
Via the registration form you can let us know that you are available to be a speaker or a panellist.
If you register for the event we will keep you updated on future events. If you can't make it this time, you can sign up for our mailing list to be notified next time we have an event coming up!
